Mister Takahiro Mori, Japan Cultural Envoy appointed by the Agency of Cultural Affairs, visited Melbourne on the 17th – 19th August.

The Agency of Cultural Affairs is part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan, and the Japan Cultural Envoy program aims to promote Japanese culture through traditional forms of art, including bonsai, in different parts of the world.

Takahiro Mori has considerable experience demonstrating in the USA. Europe, Asia and now Australia.

For some time he was the Curator at the Omiya Bonsai Museum. Following this he established his own nursery focusing on teaching, demonstrating and bonsai styling. He is a regular contributor to printed media, radio and television.

His work as a bonsai artist garnered him an award at the famous and outstanding Tokyo Kokufu-ten Bonsai Exhibition.

He has a wealth of experience and we are very fortunate to have him here in Melbourne. The Agency for Cultural Affairs together with the Bonsai Society of Victoria have organized his Melbourne program and a wonderful opportunity for us to further develop our bonsai skills and learning
