Meetings, workshops & Events

The Society provides a structured annual program of meetings, workshops, and special events designed to support learning at all levels.

Regular monthly meetings and weekend workshops give members the opportunity to develop their skills, share progress, and learn from invited presenters. Throughout the year, special events, exhibitions, and visiting instructors provide additional opportunities for engagement.

Monday Monthly Meetings

Our Monday meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month, from 7.30pm to 10pm, offering a friendly space to learn, connect, and enjoy bonsai together.

Across the year, members take part in 11 engaging sessions featuring demonstrations, presentations, seasonal topics, and plenty of shared knowledge shaped by member interests and suggestions.

A highlight of the night is Share & Tell, where members bring a tree to showcase its history, styling decisions, challenges, and future plans-a great way to learn from each other and celebrate the diversity of approaches within the club.

Saturday Weekend Workshops

Our Weekend Workshops are held on the second Saturday of each month, from 1pm to 4pm, giving members dedicated time to work on their trees in a relaxed, supportive setting.

These afternoons are a great opportunity to focus on your own bonsai, exchange ideas, and seek guidance from fellow members.

At times, the club also offers demonstrations that spotlight a particular species or technique, providing deeper learning when interest and opportunity align. Throughout the year, we may also organise tutored workshops or group excursions, adding variety and extra inspiration to the program.

Special Events

In addition to our regular meetings and workshops, the Society participates in and supports a range of special events throughout the year. These include club exhibitions, interstate conventions, collaborative events with other bonsai clubs, and organised excursions.

Special events provide opportunities to view high-quality trees, connect with the wider bonsai community, and gain exposure to different styles, techniques, and practitioners. Details of upcoming exhibitions, excursions, and related events are listed here as they are confirmed.
